Changes in Halls services...

Rest assured that your Hall reception will continue to be open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week (including Christmas Day and New Year) meaning that a member of the team will be on hand at all times.

Cleaning services will pause on Friday 20th December 2025 and resume on Monday 5th January 2026, it is up to you to take extra care of your flat over the festive period. Please speak to your Hall reception or check the email from your Hall for more information.

Bins will be emptied for those students who have informed the team they are staying on site. Reception can provide you with access to the bin store outside of these dates to remove your rubbish.

Your catered plan will resume on Monday 5th January 2026. Bertie & Bella's restaurant at Vine Court will close on Friday 19th December at 4pm and will reopen on Monday 5th January.
  • Living in Greenbank Student Village? The 699 bus service will run until Saturday 13th December. The 699 service will pause over the break and will resume on 5th January 2026. In the meantime, you can catch other Arriva bus services into the city centre from Smithdown Road (75, 80, 80a, 86a).

Looking after yourself and other residents

Naturally the winter break is a quieter time on campus and in Halls as some students choose to travel, go home or visit friends.

Personal safety is important all year round but during this period, please don't forget to take extra safety precautions:

  • Be vigilant about who enters the site - don't let anyone tailgate you into the building
  • Ensure your doors are closed properly
  • Be mindful to secure your windows, especially if you live on lower ground floors
  • Notice anything unusual? Inform your reception team right away
  • Download the Safezone App for assistance from Campus Support in just a click
  • Call a chaperone! If you're feeling vulnerable or walking home alone after an evening library session, call Campus Support to arrange a chaperone on 0151 794 3252
