With Halloween and bonfire night just around the corner, it's a popular time for fireworks and celebrations. Whether you're off out celebrating spooky season or whether you're staying in, here's a reminder of ways you can keep you and your flatmates safe:
1 - Stay vigilant
Liverpool is a safe place to study and live but while living in any city, it's always recommended that you stay vigilant especially when evenings become darker. So whether you're out and about walking through the city or right on campus, always be sure to report anything unusual or out of place. If you notice anything that seems suspicious, trust your gut and report it to your Hall reception or Campus Support:
- For emergencies call 0151 794 2222
- For non emergencies call 0151 792 3252

2 - Secure your windows, especially at night
When living in Halls, it's advised that you keep your windows closed especially if you're heading out for the evening or are off to bed. For anyone living on the ground or first floor, it's especially recommended to keep kitchen and bedroom windows closed of an evening.
3 - Remind yourself where to find support
Campus Support are the university's security team who are here to keep you safe all year round. The team also offer a 24/7 chaperone service so if you're walking across campus late at night, you can request to be escorted across the site. Contact Campus Support on 0151 793 3252 to arrange a chaperone service.
If you witness or are the victim of a crime on campus, you should immediately report it to Campus Support on 0151 794 3252.

4 - Fireworks are not permitted in or around halls
For fire safety reasons, fireworks are not permitted onsite. If you notice fireworks being used around halls, do report this to your reception or campus support.
