What to expect on arrivals weekend

Your guide to moving into Halls this weekend

There’s plenty to think about on move-in weekend. Whether it's what to pack, how to get there, settling nerves and just generally getting your head around the big move! Here's a breakdown of everything to expect over arrivals weekend to help make it that bit easier.

Arriving

We ask that you bring a maximum of two friends/family to help you move in. Follow the temporary signs for the drop off area at your Hall and you'll be able to park up for 20 minutes while you unload. After that, you'll need to move your car to one of our nearby long stay car parks.

Your online Welcome Induction highlights parking information for your Hall but rest assured that there'll be plenty of helpers around on the day to ask.

Collect your key cards

Our Hall reception teams are open 24/7 so if you're arriving from a late night flight, you don't need to worry.

Once you’ve collected your key card, a member of the team will help you find your room so that you can start unpacking! There will be trolleys available on the day but we do ask that you return them in good time for the next person.

📍Checking into Tudor Close or Melville Grove?

If you're living at Tudor or Melville this year and arriving on Saturday 13th   or Sunday 14th, you can collect your key card from Tudor or Melville. If you are arriving on a different date or out of hours, please collect your key card from Vine Court.

📍Checking into Greenbank?

Arriving to Greenbank on Saturday 13th? Since this is our busiest arrival day, please be mindful that there may be some queues and wait times while our teams check you in. If you're waiting, why not grab some lunch from the courtyard?

Food & Drinks

After a day of travelling and unpacking your bags, don't worry there'll be food and drinks nearby. In each Hall reception you'll find hot drinks such as tea and coffee.

On Saturday 13th September you'll find:

·    Halls Brunch Morning (hot drinks & breakfast sandwiches) - Vine Mezz, 12 o'clock

·       Kwok Wing Foods – Greenbank courtyard, 12-4pm

·       RHOK Crepes (savoury & sweet) – Greenbank courtyard, 12-4pm

On Sunday 14th September:

·       Halls Brunch Morning (hot drinks & pastries) - Vine Mezz, 12 o'clock

·       Kwok Wing Foods – Greenbank courtyard, 12-4pm

·    Cafes and shops, including Bertie & Bella's restaurant at Vine, will be available on campus - use our map below or just ask our helpers for directions.

You’ll see plenty of our friendly team around on arrivals weekend who are more than happy to help!

Deep breath, you’ve got this!

You’ve arrived, unpacked and your adventure has officially begun! It might be nerve wracking to get out there and introduce yourself but remember that everyone is in the same position.
