Posted 1 day ago

The schedule for the 2025 RA Conference is now available

Welcome to the RA team for 2025/26! Here's everything you need to know about this year's RA conference.

What is RA conference?

RA conference is where you will be trained for your role as an Residential Adviser in either University Halls of our private partnership Halls. As part of this, you will be introduced to key University services and teams who you will be working with. You will also be given the opportunity to meet your RA team and to network with other RAs.

Conference will take place on Wednesday 3rd, Thursday 4th and Friday 5th September 2025 in the Management School on Campus (building number 427).

The deadline to register for the Conference is Tuesday 26th August (registration links are below the schedule). Please ensure you have registered ahead of this date.

Please note: details in the below schedule are subject to change. Please look out for updates prior to the Conference, and consult the conference schedule issued to you on registration.

You can download a copy of the current schedule using the link below the images at the bottom of this article.

Who will attend?

Whether you are a new RA for 2025/26 or an experienced RA continuing with us, the Conference is an essential part of your preparation for working as an RA this year and is a mandatory part of your training. This year we also welcome our new RAs who will be located in the Private Halls to the RA Conference as well.

There are separate registration links on Eventbrite for New RAs, Continuing RAs and RAs for the Private Halls. This is because the sessions you are required to attend and timings for the Conference vary based upon whether you are a new, continuing, or Private Halls RA.

How can I register for the Conference?

The deadline to register for the Conference is before Tuesday 27th August. To register for the conference, please follow the appropriate link:

New RAs/PRAs:

New members to the team are required to attend all three days of training.

Continuing RAs and PRAs:

Continuing RAs and PRAs are required to attend training the Friday of Conference. For those continuing members of the team who do not currently hold a qualification in Mental Health First Aid, you will also be required to attend certified training on the first day of the Conference (Wednesday).

RAs in the University Halls who are taking on the SRA role of HSC RA this year will also be required to attend HSC RA training, which is scheduled on the second day of the Conference (Thursday).

Please note: whilst some sessions are marked specifically for New RA and PRAs, continuing RAs and PRAs are welcome to join these sessions if you feel you would benefit from a refresher even if this is not a day continuing members are asked to specifically attend.

RAs returning after a break in service or switching between the RA/PRA role:

Please note - if you are an RA who is returning to the role after a break in service or are switching between the RA/PRA role we will contact you separately to advise which sessions you will be expected to attend.

If you need to request an exemption from attending any part of the conference, please contact us via hallslife@liverpool.ac.uk as soon as possible with the dates you are requesting an exemption for, along with details of why you are unable to attend. Please copy your Warden into this request.

Your request may be discussed with Sam Pope, Head of Accommodation, who will make any final decisions on the granting of exemptions. If you are only requesting an exemption from part of the Conference, please ensure you still register at the correct link above.
