Your guide to: Cleaning your kitchen

Posted 16 hours ago

Let's make it ✨sparkle ✨

Keeping your kitchen and living area clean and tidy really can be key to living peacefully with your flatmates. It’s a shared space and not just your kitchen after all.

While you’ll have a cleaner visit your kitchen twice a month, the responsibility is ultimately on you and your flatmates to maintain a clean, tidy and hygienic kitchen for everyone to use.

What you need to know:

·       A domestic member of staff will visit shared kitchens every couple of weeks to provide a clean (your kitchen must be in a suitable state in order for the clean to take place, meaning that you'll have to keep on top of the cleaning in between)

·       Bins in shared kitchens will be emptied and changed by a member of staff 2-3 times per week

How to make your kitchen ✨sparkle✨

🫧  Wash, dry and say bye!

It’s tempting to let your dishes air dry to be put away later but this means your flatmates has less space to wash and dry. Before you know it, there’s a huge pile of plates stacked in the sink!

Put your dishes away so you leave the kitchen clutter-free. Don't forget, when your domestic comes, they'll need access to the sink to carry out the clean.

✅ Keep tidy

After you’ve finished cooking or using the kitchen, tidy away your ingredients and items so that you keep on top of your own tidiness.
