Spring Break is finally here! 🌞🌻💐
While some of you choose to travel or go home during the break, lots of you will be staying in Halls.
The spring break is often a quieter time on campus with some changes to services and opening hours, especially during the Easter weekend (3rd-6th April) due to the Bank Holidays. Here's what you need to know:
What's on...

Changes in Halls services...
Rest assured that your Hall reception will continue to be open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week meaning that a member of reception will be around at all times no matter what you need help with.
Due to the Spring Break, there may be some changes in your cleaning services. Your reception team will have emailed you details of any changes in cleaning services so don't forget to check your emails.
If needed, your reception time can provide you with access to the bin store outside of these dates to remove your rubbish.
- Living in a catered room at Vine Court? The Flexi Food Plan is available during term time only and will not be available from 22nd March. The catering plan will resume as normal on 13th April 2026.
- Living in Greenbank Student Village? Please note that the 699 will not operate as usual during the break. The 699 service will run until 20th March and will resume on 13th April. Your Arriva bus pass can however be used on other services that run from Smithdown Road to the City Centre such as 86a, 80a, 75. You can now track the 699 bus via the SafeZone app here.
There will also be changes to opening hours at Bertie and Bella's restaurant in Vine Court. From Monday 23rd March April, the restaurant will be open 9am-4pm with hot food being served between 12-2.30pm. Normal opening hours will resume on 13th April.

Looking after yourself and other residents
Naturally the spring break is a quieter time on campus and in Halls as some students choose to travel, go home or visit friends. Personal safety is important all year round but during this period, please don't forget to:
- Be vigilant about who enters the site - don't let anyone tailgate you
- Ensure your doors close properly
- Take extra security precautions
- Inform your reception team of anything you're unsure of or worried about
Wishing you all a wonderful spring break from all the teams in Halls!
