The countdown to Hall Formal Dinners is ON 🎉 🎉🎉

It’s almost time to get dressed for the evening and celebrate your time living in your Hall so here’s everything you need to know before the night.

University of Liverpool Halls residents are invited to enjoy a three-course meal and drink at Hall Formal Dinners this February/March! 

Tickets are free of charge but are limited in numbers and available on a first come, first served basis. We always recommend booking as early as you can to avoid disappointment! 

Arrival 🎫

Doors will open at 6.30pm in order to give time for everyone to arrive and get seated before food is served at 7.30pm.

To help everyone get into the Mountford Hall as quickly as possible, we ask that you have your QR code ready to show on arrival. We may also ask for proof of ID so please have this to hand too.

You should have received this QR code at the time of booking your ticket - please search 'guildweb' in your emails and have it to hand before you arrive. If you have any issues with finding your QR, please contact Tara for support before your Formal: t.e.codling2@liverpool.ac.uk

If you're coming to your Formal on your own, please don't hesitate to let a member of the team know and we'll do whatever we can to help you feel comfortable e.g. help you get seated.

Please note, if you arrive late it may mean that you miss the either part of or all the meal.

No longer need your ticket? 🕕

If you no longer need your Hall Formal ticket, please contact Tara (t.e.codling2@liverpool.ac.uk) to cancel. Freeing up your ticket means that another residents can book on and enjoy the meal allocated to your ticket.

If you plan to give your ticket to a friend, email in and let us know their details so that we can update the system. 

Hall Formals tickets are free of charge. Please do not 'buy' a ticket from someone who no longer needs theirs. Instead, join the waitlist on the Guild's ticket page or email in to ask about availability.

Seating 🪑

There is no seating plan for the evening so you'll find your own seats on the night. Be sure to arrive in good time to secure seats with friends and flatmates, especially if in larger groups.

We’ll do our best to help you sit with friends but we appreciate your understanding if this is not possible. After the meal has been served, you are free to move around as much as you like. Don’t forget we’ll have a DJ on so you can get up and dance after the meal if you wish to!

Menu 🍴

Starter: Crispy spiced onion bhaji, with frisee salad, coconut yoghurt, chilli & mango dressing (v)(ve)(gf)

Main: Sweet potato & chickpea loaf, pommes boulangère, roasted carrots, savoy cabbage, thyme jus (v)(ve)(gf) OR Roasted Chicken supreme, dauphinoise potatoes, roasted carrots, savoy cabbage & thyme jus (gf)

Dessert: Cupcakes

Please speak to staff on the evening if you have any questions around the menu.

While we’re serving food, please stay seated and do not swap seats. This is due to managing allergy requirements during service.

What to expect on the night🎉

On arrival, we'll check your tickets and give you a drinks voucher which you can use in bar in the Mountford Hall. Say hi to your RA team, take some photos and get seated.

Once everyone has arrived, we'll serve up your starters followed by mains and dessert. Once the food has been served, it's time to take more photos and head onto the dancefloor until the end of the night!

The event will feature bright lights and strobe lights. Please speak to a member of the team if you have any concerns.

Dress code 👔

The dress code for this event is formal so you’re very welcome to get dressed up for the evening and wear something smart. We do however always encourage you to wear what you feel comfortable in.
