The clocks will go back on Sunday 27th October at 2am meaning we fortunately get an extra hour of sleep (yay)! However, with the change in clocks and winter around the corner, darker evenings and shorter days will come around.
In November and December, you'll find that sun rises later in the morning and sunset will be earlier too. The weather will also start to get colder as we head into the winter months. So it'll be time to dig out your hats, scarves and gloves soon!
If you're a winter kind of person, then get the cosy socks ready as your season is nearly here! If you're more of a summer person, it might be a good time to think about healthy habits and routine you can get into this winter...
1. New month = new opportunities π
Itβs not too late to join a society, sports club or try a new activity. Staying connected with others is all the more important in the winter and can be a real mood booster.
Tip: Try a Hall Sports session on a Friday night! Rotating between Netball, Futsal and Dodgeball, each week newbies are welcome at 8pm in Sports Centre - click here to see what's on π
2. Make the most of brighter days π
Natural daylight can strengthen your immune system, help with your mood, sleep quality and help us to feel calm. Although days can feel shorter in the winter, try to make the most of those sunnier days by exploring Sefton Park, Greenbank, Albert Dock, Georgian Quarter.
Tip: Book onto a Halls exclusive nature walk in Formby Woods. Escape the city and meet new people while soaking up Formby's very own nature reserve just 30 minutes away from Liverpool - book here!
3. Try out a Winter Warmer recipe π΄
Itβs ok to take a night off from going out and switch it up for a cosy night in instead! A chilly evening might just be the ideal time to suggest trying out a new winter warmer recipe with flatmates. Try out a new dish and learn a new skill - check out our food tab here for recipe inspiration!

4. Switch up your study space π°
It might be tempting to stay in your room if the weather isnβt great but there are so many cosy, comfy places near your hall. Studying in places other than your room can help with productivity and focus and establishing a daily routine. Why not try Bertie & Bella's new restaurant at Vine Court? Serving hot chocolates, tea, coffee and all your favourite drinks to cosy up!

5. Find a routine that works for you π§Ί
These first few weeks have been all about settling in and getting used to a whole new lifestyle. Now finding a good routine means you find a balance between everything from fun stuff, socialising, exercise and studies to daily tasks
Tip: Use your pin board above your desk to write a to do list for each day!
