Don't dump it, donate it!

The inevitable task of packing up your room (😪) is soon approaching with summer on it's way and end of term nearly here.

To make that end of year clear out easier for you, the Guild of Students have launched their annual Leave Liverpool Tidy campaign! This means you can donate your belongings, support amazing charities and avoid items going to landfill this May.

Find donation boxes in the reception areas of Crown Place, Greenbank, Vine Court, Philharmonic Court and Dover Court.

Before you donate, remember:

  • To make sure your donations are clean and dry, no mouldy plates please
  • Your donations are going to charity, make sure they're listed below and are in good condition
  • Clearly label your donation bag are so we know what's inside
  • You can either use your own bag or pick up an official Leave Liverpool Tidy bag from your Hall reception
  • Melville & Tudor residents can use the donation points in Vine Court

🔴 Donate to British Heart Foundation:

Look out for the big red box in your Hall reception area and donate unwanted:

👕 clothes & shoes

🎩 accessories

📚 books

🍶 plates, cups, cutlery

⚡ small working electricals e.g. bedside lamp, hair dryers, cameras

Please donate knives directly to your reception team.

Please do not donate duvets, pillows, broken or dirty items

🥫 Donate to Fareshare:

Look out for the crate in your Hall reception and donate unwanted:

🍚 unopened dried foods e.g. pasta, rice

🥫 tins, jars of food

Please do not donate out of date, perishable or opened food items

🔋 Other recyclable items:

Batteries - donate old batteries to the battery bin in your Hall reception

Food - Any perishable food can go in your kitchen's food waste bin but be sure to remove the packaging first! Since there's a few weeks left of term, avoid any food waste by using what's in your freezer and back of the cupboard.

❌ Items not listed above:

Sadly not quite everything can be donated to your reception's collection box so be sure to read what you can and cannot donate first.

Avoid contaminating the donation points! Any unwanted items can't be donated to BHF or Fareshare should go in a general waste or mixed recycling bin.

We know that not all plastics are easily recyclable or that you might have old tech to get rid of. Check out the official Leave Liverpool Tidy page for more info on donating on campus.
