Halls Events: Everything you need to know

Posted 16 hours ago

From student conduct to photography at our events

While living in Halls, we have plenty of events and activities for you to get involved in πŸŽ‰

There's a few things you might want to know before coming along so take a look through.

Got a question about an event or the information below? Get in touch hallslife@liverpool.ac.uk or speak to us on the night.

We can't wait to see you at an event soon!

All of our events can be found on the Halls Life events page , in your Friday 'what's on' email or on @livunihalls Instagram and are open to students living in University of Liverpool Halls. We'll post a mix of our Welcome events, craft nights, mixers, sport events, housing events, postgrad events and so much more.

All of our events are drop in (unless stated otherwise) and are free of charge. Our events are here to help you meet new people and make new friends as well, so we welcome everyone to come alone or with flatmates.

On arrival, you'll see the Halls Life team and our Residential Advisers so we'll be there to say Hi and welcome you :)

Vine Mezz:

We host most Halls-based events in Vine Court Mezz social space as this is one of our main spaces. If you see this as the event location, the event is still open to everyone in Crown Place, Greenbank, Vine Court, Melville, Tudor, Dover and Philharmonic Court. To get to Vine Mezz, head to Vine Court and the double doors under the Bertie & Bella's restaurant sign closest to Subway and head up the stairs.

Lift access is available via A block just around the corner in Vine's courtyard. You can use your key card to access A block if you live in Vine, Melville or Tudor. If you're coming from another Hall and require lift access, please make your way to Vine Court reception who will give you access.

Other event locations:

Bertie & Bella's restaurant, Vine Court

Dover Court common room

Greenbank Lounge (in reception) and courtyard

AJ pub, next to Crown Place

Abercromby Square, next to Sydney Jones library

Crown Place reception area

Philharmonic Court common room

Check out our event and Halls map here.

We love to capture the moment so the team will be taking photos at our events which may be used on our social media or in other marketing materials. If you'd rather your photo wasn't taken, please speak to a member of staff at the event.

Halls events are all about getting involved, meeting new people and giving you a chance to unwind from your studies. However at some of our events we will serve some food. We always try to cater for everyone but on occasions where events are particularly busier than expected, we ask that you'd bear in mind that food is first come, first served. We recommend arriving at the start of an event to avoid any disappointment.

Allergens

Wherever we do serve food, we will provide a vegetarian, gluten free and vegan option. If you're unsure of allergens, please speak to the team on arrival and we'll provide the ingredient list or more information.

Please be reminded that these options are also first come, first served. We also ask that you're mindful of other attendees when helping yourself to food at events.

At some of our events, you'll be able to help yourself to a beer, prosecco or cider but wherever we provide alcohol, we always provide a soft drink option too.

Some of our events are exclusively alcohol-free which means we only provide soft drinks for that event. Look out for the alcohol-free badge on our events or search the tag alcohol-free on Halls Life here.

At some of our events, we'll run a Quiet Hour beforehand. You'll find a Quiet Hour before our Halls Welcome Mixer on 12th September and the Welcome Social on 13th September.

Come and get your bearings and settle in ahead of our events starting.
