What's on in Liverpool - Summer 2022
We might be biased but summer is a great time to be in Liverpool as there’s so much going on. To help you make the most of your time here, we’ve put some top recommendations together for upcoming events in the city.
Events in Liverpool
Africa Oyé, 18 and 19 June
This festival is the UK’s largest celebration of African culture and music. Hosted in Sefton Park, the popular festival feature lots of stalls selling African food, drink, arts and crafts as well as dance and art workshops for everyone to get involved in. Liverpool Soul Weekender, 24-26 June
Liverpool Soul Weekender is returning for a 3-day celebration of soul music from the UK and across Europe. Find out more here.
Liverpool International Music Festival, 29-31 July
The festival will be hosted across multiple venues, taking over the whole of the city! To celebrate all things music from new and emerging musicians, to known international names, you can grab your ticket here.
Liverpool Pride Festival, 30 July
In honour of Pride Month, Liverpool will be hosting a march and festival with live music in the city centre on 30 July. To support the LGBTQ+ University community, the University will be marching together and you can sign up to join here.
Brazilica Festival, 6 August
Celebrating all things Brazilian, this street parade will be taking place in Liverpool city centre on 6 August. Expect lots of colour, music and dance. Find out more here.

Give It A Go trips
The Guild of Students have put together an exciting summer schedule of trips to help you get to know the city and surrounding areas better! Come along and meet other students for fun day trips exploring. Stay updated with upcoming trips here.
River Explorer Cruise
One of the best ways to see the Liverpool skyline is to jump on the River Explorer Cruise. Pick a sunny day for the best view and soak up the scenery. Find out more and book your ticket here.
The Tower Experience
Want to see Liverpool with a 360° view? Try the Tower Experience at the Liverpool Anglican cathedral. Bonus points if you spot your accommodation!
Aqua Park
If walking through the Albert Dock isn’t enough for you, you can do an inflatable obstacle course in the river itself! The Aqua Park inflatable course will be open all summer and is a fun activity for you and your friends to get stuck into. There are also lots of other water sports to get involved in such as paddle boarding, canoeing and wakeboarding.
