Looking for next year's accommodation? 3 things you should know
It's easy to feel overwhelmed with the process of finding housemates and somewhere to live for next year of university but rest assured that you're not alone!
Everyone who lives in Halls has to consider where they’ll go next year. Whether you live in Halls again or move out into private housing, it’s not always an easy decision and it’s absolutely fine to feel unsure about what’s for the best right now.
If you're looking for private housing, your first port of call is Liverpool Student Homes (LSH). LSH allow you to search for properties that have been they have checked and approved themselves. New properties and availability are regularly added to the website so if nothing catches your fancy right now, don’t panic as there's more to come.
3 things you should know if you're in the middle of your search for housing...
1. There’s no rush…still!
There’s always a rush to sign up to housing contracts in the first semester of university. It’s a myth that all student accommodation will be gone by Christmas, especially in Liverpool which has lots and lots of student properties and homes.
Everyone’s journey to finding the best housing for next year is different and happens at different times so try not to compare yourself with others. If you’re still looking for a place to live or people to live with, you’re doing the right thing by taking your time and ultimately you’ll find the right place for you to live!
2. Not found housemates yet? Don’t worry!
If you missed our Housemate Mixer in February then don’t panic! We’ll be hosting another Housemate Mixer to help you make some connections for next year. Grab a slice of pizza and come along to Vine Mezz 6-8pm to meet other Halls students looking for housemates on Monday 17th April.
Liverpool Student Homes are also hosting a Find a Housemate event on Thursday 23rd March. before the Spring Break. Be sure to keep an eye on their website for details and follow @livstudenthomesofficial for more info or click here.
If you can't make it to any of the housemate events, check out the Message Board on Liverpool Student Homes’ website. You can post on there and connect with other students who are also looking for housemates or have a spare room in their property. Click here to view the Liverpool Student Homes Message Board.
